We ALWAYS insure our items for full value. This is quite large measuring almost 11-1/2 inches at the very longest point. The base is 9 inches long and 5 inches wide, and with the chimney, it measures 13 inches tall.
There are strong remains of the original paint, black with red striping, on the base and the wheels. I think something is missing off the back, a tube or a pipe. The only identifying mark I could find is on the bottom of the base, it is stamped 143F.
My understanding is that the F is for Joseph Falk, but when I was researching, there were subtle differences between this and any I found from Falk, but that the Schoenner engines were so similar to the Falk's that I could hardly tell them apart. Then I learned that Falk bought Schoenner. As you can see in the photos, it is pretty gunked up, has some rust spots, needs to be tuned up and needs at least one replacement part.
Also, there is some soldering on the rear of the tank, where the missing piece is. I always picture the worst of the flaws, so any other wear or scratching is no worse than anything pictured, and is really just as you would expect for a toy that was clearly well enjoyed! I also found some Marklin accessories with it so check my other listings to see if they are still available! Please review the photos for a complete description. All photographs are part of the description.
We are always obtaining interesting pieces and have a seemingly endless number of jewelry, antiques and collectibles. We do not know color or clarity, and do not know natural from heated, enhanced, or synthetic. We either rely upon marks for metal purity, or test for gold content. Whatever we say the metal purity is 14K, 18K, 925 Sterling, etc.
We do not collect these items, and we are NOT experts in the field. We appreciate any information you may have to assist us in identifying, or toward providing a more accurate description, but we do require some authority for the information. We provide a lot of photos, but please ask questions if you have them. We package in the highest grade materials including new, previously unused bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts. Please know your country's importation laws and restrictions.
