8 has a brass boiler and firebox, with sight glass, on a metal base. True beam engine with the cylinder driving the beam unlike almost all other Weeden beam engines whereas the beam is driven by a crankshaft. Introduced 1893 & made until 1910? Early models stood 8" high on a 4¾ x 5¾" base with a 1?" flywheel, later models were 8½" high on a 5 3/16" X 6 5/16" base w/larger 2 &7/16 Flywheel. I had this old girl running just a few months ago, it needed some oil and a "Nudge" however, once I did that, it came to life just as I remembered from my childhood. [It's been in my family for 3 generations & was my Grandfather's]. Though it ran excellent, it did seep some droplets... Looks likely to be from seals? It will likely need some love. But, it worked great & I was thrilled to see it go again! The item "ANTIQUE Weeden Steam Engine NO. 8 True beam engine 1893-1910" is in sale since Monday, November 1, 2021.
