Post WWII Tin Litho Windups Steam Locomotive Coal Passenger Cars WWII US-Zone Germany. There are two available at the time of this listing, each one available separately. The red passenger cars are marked on the rear side "Made in US Zone Germany" post-WWII US-Zone Germany (probably 40's-50's), and underneath "Made in Germany". The steam engine and coal car are black with red line details. These trains still wind up (either with a key, or through friction) and pull their cars behind them.

This model design has train wheels, not toy car or truck rubber wheels which I saw on another train built more for toddlers and not older children, and not made for tracks. NOTE: There is a lever on the side of each engine to keep the flywheel from spinning and the engine from driving off into the sunset, but both of these levers are stiffened in place and will need oiling etc to loosen them up if you want to keep them from taking off once wound up.

As I recall from childhood, these came with no tracks but were made to work on the same tracks as electric trains so the younger kids in the family could also enjoy taking part in the play with the family's miniature train tracks. The distance from the centers of each flat portion of the wheels to one another is 1 5/16th of an inch. There is only light wear to the bodies and some discoloration of the light colored roofs of the passenger cars (please see all photos). They will make a charming addition to your collection!

MEASUREMENTS APPROXIMATE: Total Length: 17 3/4" long, 1 3/4" wide, 2 1/2" tall, Coal Car 1 3/4" tall. 4 3/4" long e ngine, 4" long passenger cars, 2 3/4 long coal car.
